Mr. Philip Knowles

Whitefield College of the Bible

Mr Philip Knowles is one of the members of our congregation in Sandown and serves on the committee of our church. After hearing the call of God to full time service, Philip surrendered his life to the Lord and commenced studies in the Whitefield College of the Bible in September 2013.

Having successfully completed his first year, Philip has now started out in his second year of the 4-year ministerial course. As a congregation we pay tribute to Philip’s willingness and desire to serve God fully and to go at the call of God and train for full time service.

It is our prayer that God would bless Philip richly during his studies and that God would give him great success as he studies in Bible College. We also pray that God would open a door of service for Philip in the future, that he would continue to be used of God.

Do remember to pray for Philip, and his wife Valentina and their two boys – Joshua and Josiah – pray for safety on the roads as he travels each day to college, pray for help in the studying at college and pray for the infilling of Gods Holy Spirit in Philip’s life as he preaches around the various congregations.

Miss Rachel Crawford

New Tribes Mission Bible College

Rachel, is one of our faithful members and friends of Sandown. Having been brought up in a Christian and God-fearing home, Rachel came to faith in Jesus Christ as a young girl.

She has sought to serve God in many different ways, especially in our congregation in Sandown and in the wider youth work of the Free Presbyterian Church. Rachel was a very active member of the youth fellowship in Sandown.

However for a period of time, Rachel felt that the Lord was calling her to leave her employment and to go and train for future full time service. And so having already had a burden and a passion for missionary work, Rachel applied to the New Tribes Mission Bible College at North Coates on the east coast of England. She was fully supported and encouraged by the Session of Sandown in her application.

In September 2014, Rachel commenced a one-year Bible course there, with a possibility for further study. She is leaving her life in God’s hands and willing to do as He leads and guides her. Please pray for Rachel, as she studies and pray that God would clearly direct her steps and guide her to where He wants Rachel to be.
