Children’s Meeting

Each Tuesday night at 7 o’clock, upwards of 40 children and workers arrive at the church on buses from Clarawood & Tullycarnet estates along with our local church children. The meeting begins with the children singing choruses and doing the actions to many of the songs. A favourite part of the meeting is of course the quiz – with sweets & prizes handed out for correct answers. The eagerness of each child is in itself a blessing to behold. The reason we bring children into the church is to teach them the Word of God. Every Tuesday we learn a verse of Scripture from the Bible. This is crucial because we’re told in the Bible that the Apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy saying:-

‘…from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.’ 2 Timothy 3:15.

It is the desire of our workers to see these children taught the way of God’s salvation. Each worker takes part in the meeting; whether leading the choruses, quiz and memory verse or simply sitting among the children. Every worker believes it is a privilege to bring to these boys and girls a message from God’s Word. The meeting ends at 8 o’clock with the children safely back on the buses ready for home. We’d be very happy to have your children join our children’s meeting each week.
